I think the Craig family on the 1851 and 1861 census are one and the same.

Isabella present in 1851 ... missing in 1861.

Isabella may have died ... possibly one of the two deaths you found.

Helen. Found 2 Isabellas on death records on free bmd -1855 and 1859 both Liverpool.Soooo -right Im losing the plot now! Are we saying the Craig family found in 1851 & 1861 in Liverpool are the same family ?(or rather its quite possible they are the same)

Helen Report 5 Apr 2010 13:08

For interest:

Concerning the marriage of Thomas Craig and Isabella McMaster. If this couple had continued to live in Scotland, I would be looking for a death for Isabella on Scotlandspeople. (Assuming she died after 1855)

Checked for a death for Isabella McMaster / Craig (cross-ref names)

The first death record to appear for these names is in 1961 ... so definitely not yours

This may be a clue in confirming the Craig family down in England on the census details.

Can't be proved but might be worth keeping in mind just in case.

Thanks Helen. mmmmm, hes a possibilty, I wonder what happened to him.Pity the census doesnt say where he was born! (but I guess that would make life too easy for family history researchers!)
