Thanks Ann,
On 1861 Census Johns mother is shown as widowed.
I have now been given Johns marriage certificate which states his fathers residence at time of marriage - DEC 1861 as Holkham, Norfolk. No mention of him being deceased - was this usual practice?
Still looking for any brothers or sisters of John please.

Hi Ann.
Johns parents quite possibly did marry the same year he was born which I suppose did happen - but I am getting confused as I have now found a note made a while ago that in 1851 Mary Turner was widowed and living in st pancras with sons William and John. her age is put at 51 and I dont know if there were any other children from the marriage which may confirm the correct branch ofTurners
As for Alfred Joseph wouldnt Mary have been too old to have a baby? Could it have been her grandchild........Lynne

Ann Report 6 Apr 2010 20:42

this is a possible marriage for Henry and Mary Ann unfortunately the writing on the certificate is blurred (have informed ancestry) so cant see his occupation

Henry Turner Full age married Mary Ann Harold Hayson on 26/8/1839 st Anne soho, westminster father Daniel Turner and spouse father Wm Hayson

the only trouble with this is they would have married after John was born. It is a shame I cant read his occupation it would solve everthing.

another odd thing a child born Alfred Joseph ch16/2/1870 born 2/10/1864 father Henry furniture dealer deceased mother mary ann possible child??

big gap if so

sorry cant be more helpful

Hi,
Sorry folks, I put the date wrong John was born 1838 NOT 1848
Henry was a cabinet maker from London. I thought I had the correct Henry but now I'm not sure and this is why I would like to know who Henrys other children are and his wifes maiden name.
I have information on John and Adah. They met and married in 1861 in Holkham Norfolk and later moved to Regents Park, London.

Mother and siblings of John Turner born in 1848 in St. Pancras Middlesex. His father was Henry Turner.
I think I may have gone down the wrong Turner road so any help with this information would be greatly appreciated.
