Hi I am looking for relatives of my brother in law Frank Alcock born 27/3/1932.. He had a sister Mary who married a George Wilson 1952 they had sons Robert around 1957? Steven January 1959
We know Steven had twin boys but have not got a clue as to where they are now..
Frank only has a short time to live so I am eager to do this for him before it is too late. Frank moved to Australia in 1971 at that time he was married to my sister Patricia .
any thanks Jan

Hi Dea, well I think I have been doing fairly well; all the leads you gave me have been great. Now I am up to finding closer relations ..i.e. Phyllis Rowley M W Sturman 1928 had daughter Sheila 1932 she married Theordore Blanch 1952?? I can't find anything else to get me to present day.
Help would be appreciated please.
Kind regards Jan x

Sorry for adding the extra info Dea, wrists slapped, lol.

I just searched for Rowley births in Coventry, no Christian names.

Janet - you had a certain amount of time in which to register the birth (I think about 6 weeks but I am sure someone will put me right).

SO, it meant that people registered in March Quarter could have been registered in January, February or March, so the birth could very well have been in the previous year.

Thank you. I have found Annie Elizabeth in March 1902... think it is the one as I can't find another. Does it mean she was born in 01 or 02 ?? I am confused lol as usual Jan x

I always search a year or two either side, just in case!

And if looking for an 'Annie' for example, I usually use a wild card on first name in case she was an 'Ann' or 'Anne' - e.g. Ann*

Christine has posted some 'possibles' (thank you)

Harriet Annie is not the one as she is on 1911 daughter of Mary Ann + William.

BUT - this is a possible:

Births Mar 1902
Rowley Annie Elizabeth Coventry 6d 528

I cannot find a Clarence on 1911 so Christine's 'Clarence Queenie' may well be the one (perhaps she should be 'Clarice' or something similar?

You need this site to find them:

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

and you need to widen your search slightly as a late 1901 birth, for example, could be registered early 1902.

Edit:

OOOhhh 'naughty Christine'! - you keep adding more info onto your post above!

slap wrists! (tee hee!

Hi Janet,

The reference number is for the 'volume no and page' in the Parish Register and there is more than one marriage entered on the same page. (Two to the page is usual)

The other couple's marriage was entered on the same page and so has the same reference number.
