There's a book about him - perhaps you can get hold of it via Interlibrary loan or perhaps the local studies library for the area might have it |

Has anyone know his ancestry? He was born 1845 in Sunderland and became MD of Swan Hunter Shipyards. I have got his father as Thomas b 1805 and mother Elizabeth Rowntree. b 1810 but really need to find out info further back as to whether the family came from The Shetlands. Would be v grateful if anyone could help ! |
