Buy Lilian Phyllis Boyce-Russell's birth certificate and it will confirm her parentage. I feel sure the info provided is that which you need.

If this is one of her siblings:

Births Jun 1912
Boyce-Russell Annie W ...... mmn Herbert........ W.Ham 4a 389

and this is one of her own children:

Births Sep 1930
Giles Annie W....... Boyce-Russell...... W.Ham 4a 344

Then it has to be more than coincidence!

If it proves to be a connection, then note the mothers maiden name HERBERT on 1912 birth. This then ties in with all the other info .

Hi Christine,

I believe that her mother's name was Annie Herbert.

Annie Herbert married Thomas William Russell in 1897 and was widowed by 1901 when she had a relationship with William Boyce whom she married in 1914.

Annie was from Scotland so maybe you will find her on Scotlandspeople.

Christine

As the marriage of Boyce & Russell did not take place until 1914
perhaps the reason for children being called "Boyce-Russell " ..........Possible?

the maiden name of mother matches the visitors on 1901 census above and the 1st marriage of Annie Herbert in 1897

says William & Annie married 14 years but see next posting and marriage of 1897 to Thomas William Russell which would have been married 14 years in 1911. Believe that father, William Russell , on 1911 census was really William Boyce and maybe for the sake of propriety used the familys name of Russell. see marriage in 1914 in next posting.

i can,t seam to locate lillian on the 1911 census so the birth cert would be the best one to send for as it will name both father & mother rather than the marriad=ge cert as that would only name the father
good luck
