Looks like the child that Contrary Mary mentioned on page 1 also died in this quarter

So it looks like Ruth and her son Robert and daughter Olive all died in Dec qtr 1918.....how sad is that?!

I can't find a death for Thomas W G though, so perhaps he didn't die either?

I'm wondering if they were the victims of the Spanish Flu?

Yes, you could be right. Just googled 'Spanish Flu' and it says the pandemic lasted from March 1918 to June 1920
The virus caused three waves of disease. The second of these, between September and December 1918, resulting in the heaviest loss of life.

Really sad. Just makes you realise how lucky we are. I wonder what happened to Thomas then? When my grandad married my Nan in 1921 he only brought Ruth with him? The plot thickens!

That would make sense. How sad for Sydney, to go from a family of 7 to 2 in a matter of a couple of years.

Yes, very sad.....life was not easy in those days!
