Have now found 2 possible marriages for James and Elizabeth.

JAMES TAYLOR
Male
Marriages:
Spouse: ELIZABETH ROUND
Marriage: 28 SEP 1814 Saint Leonards, Shoreditch, London, England

JAMES TAYLOR
Male
Spouse: ELIZABETH BARS
Marriage: 08 JUN 1817 Saint Leonards, Shoreditch, London, England

Rather leaning towards the 1817 marriage, but won't be able to confirm anything unless older children are found.

Wendy Report 17 May 2010 14:39

Continuing on now to James Taylor.
We know that he married Elizabeth, and was a watch finisher. We know that he had at least 2 children, Elizabeth and John.
Apart from a possible marriage, I can source nothing else accurate.
There is a record in the 1841 census of a James and Eliza' Taylor living in Finsbury, a good match, but not confirmed.

THANKYOU ALL!!!!!
I wrote to my mother's cousin to let him know we may have the wrong father for Charles..and he wrote back saying he had confirmed the same data with another cousin. He has the marriage certificate for Charles' parents!!! Why couldn't they tell me this in the first place?
Sylvia, your efforts were spot on, and I thankyou so much for "showing me the light", and finding my real ancestors.

Wendy

Wendy Report 6 May 2010 12:19

I have had a search, and with my limited resources have managed to find only 1 suitable marriage for James Taylor and Elizabeth.
8 June 1817 James Taylor and Elizabeth Bars (Barrs).
I am sure there are more, but that was all I could find.

Wendy

Wendy Report 5 May 2010 15:53

Sylvia, I spent ages filling in all the wrong names before on my tree, they are deleted..and I am so confident the information you have so kindly found is the correct information..so I have started to add some names..not too many mind you, just in case!!!

I hope we can find more information, if only my great aunt would concentrate!! (God bless her).

Wendy

Wendy Report 5 May 2010 14:22

You know, the fact that John was a tailor, and his name and occupation listed on Charles' marriage register is a pretty good connection.
Unfortunately none of the living relatives have any information on Charles, let alone his parents and siblings. I am going to pass this along to my great aunt and see if any names are familiar.

Wendy

Wendy Report 5 May 2010 13:17

WOW, I hope these are the correct people, many thanks for searching Sylvia.
Any way we can tie them in with grandchildren?
I need time to sort through these and wirte them down in a list to make sure...so exciting!!

I think that Florence was a witness to Charles' wedding, it's looking very favourable that SylviaC has found the correct data.
Still a lot to find, but an awful lot of data discovered.
I hope more can be found.

Wendy

Wendy Report 4 May 2010 07:10

Louisa must have been born C1850 if she was 41, or 1870 if she was 21.
