Chrissy - I can't see any shortcuts! It looks like you have to buy Annie and William's marriage certificate then come back to the thread with the details.

Don't delete the thread, just add the details from the marriage when you get them and we will find the thread and look for them on census records.

Thankyou all of you for your time and effort, I will do as you suggest Rootgatherer and buy the marriage cert. I know this sounds dumb but how do I go about that? I am in Cornwall. Can I do it through Genes or do I have to write to somewhere? I am new to all this. Thanks Chrissy

In 1881 Ann was with William and Sarah,
If it is the same one she had sister Elizabeth 1868
Emma 1870 I think this should be emily and she died 1874.
William 1870/1

Elizabeth married 1896 to Joseph WILSON May born Guilford Surrey 1870.

I noticed Annie and William Henry Howard had in 1913 son Henry WILSON Eliot Howard and wondered if there were a connection there.

There is a lady on here with
Elizabeth
Emma
William but no Ann,I wonder if it would be worth contacting her.

Maryb

Edit just noticed you said there was connection to surname MAY
so that 's another one to go with Joseph Wilson may married to Elizabeth Teaster.

So that is the right family.

Ann's dad william 1837 Lincolnshire married louisa Willis in Edmonton O/N/D 1861 V3a Page 160.

The same lady who is on here with elizabeth emma william etc also has louisa Willis.

Louisa willis born @ 1841 in Colchester essex.

She could have actually been Laura Louisa,

On Ancestry it says Emily,Elizabeth,William Teaster born to Laura Louisa and William Teaster.
On 1871 William teaster with Lora (Laura)
On 1881 William with Sarah but that could be the transcribers.

Glad we got a result, and it is almost certain it is the same family.

Hi there you lovely people, I still have not found out where William Henry Howard was born. I have a sneaking suspicion that he was born in Ireland somewhere near Dublin.
Information so far, Born 14/5/1859. Father William Howard (Master Plumber). I have no idea what his Mother's name was.
Not much to go on is it?
Can anyone help here please?

Where did you get his exact date of birth from please? What age did he give on his marriage certificate to Annie Tester? Is that where you got his father's name and occupation?

Christine

Christine Report 15 Apr 2011 16:11

What was William's occupation on the 1913 marriage certificate please? Have you found him on the 1911 census?

Christine

Christine Report 16 Apr 2011 14:37

Hi Rootgatherer, sorry I was not here, houserwork and shopping LOL.William Henry was a paperhanger on the marriage cert and living in Theberton Street, Islington. I cannot be sure That I have found hime on the 19114 census because there are too many of them, also he was a widower so may have been still married at the time of the census. I just go round in circles with this one.
