I am always sceptical until all the info has been confirmed at the Records Office..
Just don't take everything as GOSPEL from Familysearch IGI until you have been as I said to the records office for Rudston which will more than likely be Hull.

Sorry Janet I got confused earlier. If you are right William and Jane Wright are my William's b1807 grandparents so son Wright is named after his great grandmother where Jonas after his grandfather and Bridget, Robert and John are all family names. I know you have your doubts Sue in Leeds (incidentally I went to University there - a thousand years ago or so it seems) but it does fit

On the Family search site on the IGI they have batch nummbers which can be crossed checked with Hugh Wallis Site.

To Sue in Leeds, it isn't a downer about Rudston being in East Yorkshire, the person Robert Bower (possible relative of William Bower)living in Crosland Moor came from Rudston and that is what has made the connection. .....also if I were a betting person I would risk a penny on saying there isn't an Almondbury in Bradford.... but I could be wrong -JLe

In answer to your question whether the names have been used earlier it list Jonas having a sibling called Bridget Bower bapt 26th Oct 1781 at Rudston along with a brother called William Bower bapt 25th Oct 1787 and a John Bower bapt 7th Sept 1785 again bapt at Rudston. The marriage for William Bower and Jane Wright is entered at 23rd Dec 1779 at Rudston, suggesting that someone may have previously researched the family. The idea that Robert is an uncle is much better as I found Jonas's father deceased by 1796, which would have left the family of 7 children fatherless and may be a reason for them to go (return) to Huddersfield. -JLe

Found this on IGI Family search.It's possible that William was born in Bradford and taken to Almondbury,there is a district of Bradford named Almondbury also..
Maybe this is where the Jonas came from...

It does appear to be gelling.
1.Jonas Bower and Jane Wright are the parents - Peter Lindley thought it was Thomas and Jane but Thomas could be confused with Jonas.
2 Robert Bower is the uncle - the names Robert, Jonas and Wright are used as children of William as is George, Bridget, Elizabeth and Nathaniel (are these names used earlier?
3. John born 1820 living as a lodger in 1851 could be son of either Jonas or Robert or another sibling

Just remembered another snippet, somewhere I noticed, possibly on William Bower's family a child called Wright Bower and I wondered where the name came from, so now I feel confident that I have given you the correct information and that Jane Wright was the child paternal grandmother.-JLe
