I can only suggest that you try the IGI - if nothing there, you would need the County Records Office

The County Records Office is a building where one goes to carry out research - it is not a website. I believe the Somerset one is located in Taunton - but you can easily find out by googling

There is a baptism for a William Sedgbeer in 1770 in Ashbrittle, Somerset. I couldn't say for sure whether this was your man or not - you would need to check how close Ashbrittle is to Timberscombe/Cutcombe....

14th August 1770 - William Sedgbeer - baptised St John the Baptist Church, Ashbrittle - father John Sedgbeer.

There is also a marriage for a William Sadgbeer in Cutcombe

21st September 1794 - St John, Cutcombe - William Sadgbeer to Mary Bryant

Again - not sure if this is your guy.

These entries are from

www.freereg.org.uk

Also three baptisms in Timberscombe to a William and Mary Sedgbeer

24th May 1795 - St Petroc, Timberscombe - John Sedgbeer

10th July 1803 - St Petroc, Timberscombe - Sarah Sedgbeer

16th February 1806 - St Petroc, Timberscombe - Ann Sedgbeer

There is also one baptism in Cutcombe to a William and Mary Sadgbeer

1st January 1801 - St John, Cutcombe - Mary Sadgbeer.

I don't know if this is two separate families of if they moved from Timberscombe to Cutcombe after 1795 and then back to Timberscome again after 1801.

There is about 10miles as the crow flies between Ashbrittle and Timberscombe. Cutcombe is next to Timbercombe so its all very possible Thank you for helping me .
