The place to look for all bmds between the start of registration on July 1 1837 and about 1940 (currently) is www.freebmd.org.uk

it's a FREE site!!!

This is the record from on there

Marriages Sep 1860 (>99%)

Blyth Mary Ann W London 1c 87
>>>>>Crook Jane W London 1c 87
Peel Robert W. London 1c 87
>>>>>SPURRIER George W London 1c 87

You will find that there are usually 4 names to a record (soemtimes 6 or 8) ................ they are the names of couples who happen to have been recorded together. There is no connection between them

SylviaInCanada Report 28 May 2010 05:27

oh yes!!!!

This site only sends you to the INDEX for all births marriages and deaths.

You spend hours searching, trying to find the spouse!!

Use freebmd as much as you can

As I said, it carries the records from July 1 1837 to (currently) about 1940 .... but volunteers are working hard to get all the information on up until 1983, when they started putting record information directly on the web.

www.ancesty.co.uk carries the bmd information up until 2005 ..... but you need a subscription to see them.
