Was George the name of your grandfather? If so where and when was he born?

I am trying to trace my g-g-grandfather Frederick Mason dob 1836 or thereabouts. He is on my g-grandfathers marriage cert' as Frederick a labourer living in Hampton Middlesex.
I have looked on the 1871 census and found a Frederick married to Hannah and they had a child George of about the right age to be married to Emily Sharpe, how do I find out if this is the correct Frederick? Help or advice would be appreciated please.
