Hello Joan

I found a mention that you were looking for a death for your gg grandfather Whayman and someone had found that he had died in Umballa, Bengal India. I too had a relative in the Royal Horse Artillery as Sergeant who died in Umballa in 1877.

I wondered if you managed to get the death certificate and whether it says anything else about circumstances etc. than what was mentioned on Family Search? Also do you know where to get the Indian certificates from? I am also looking for a marriage certificate and a birth certificate from the same area. I live in the UK.

scroll down to Palampur there is a grave there for Whayman it could be your Daniel. You can order a copy of the inscription from the site

This is the same family Jane (the mother ) is living with her daughter now. No sign of Daniel.
Just clutching at straws... he joined up then ... married Eliza while in Ireland ( as she hails from Dublin) and the rest as you say is history !!!!

Hi Everyone!!!! And a huge thank you to you all!!!! Because of the time difference here in Oz and me working I haven't got back on this site til now and I am sooooo happy!!!! You guys have found (I am pretty sure) Daniel's death in India and possibly another child of his.

How can I get a copy of his death certificate??? Or find out his actual date of birth and where born??? There are soo many conflicting years etc.
