Well all of James and Violet's childrens' birth records I've found (I haven't seen any certificates) list their mother's name as Eddy. They weren't married until after half of their children were born.
Violet and James had Edgar, who was my dad's father.

OK, well do you have YOUR grandparents marriage cert ( come back a generation), presumably a child of Violet & either Jack or James

That's what my Dad told me, Violet was his grandmother, but there seems to be a lot of uncertainty surrounding her. And I haven't found any marriage record between the two.

Yes I had found that record, but until I can definitely link it to my Violet I hesitate in going further. Looks like I'll have to fork out for the certificate, haha.
