I think what would be a great idea is for niece and aunt to post on one thread at the same time, so you can swap the details you already have on the thread whilst still asking for help on the things neither of you know :)

I find it odd Abbey that you are checking out 'Lynn’s' thread when you clearly have no idea about Genealogy...

...you don’t (according to your obvious lack of knowledge) even know how to look on Freebmd; otherwise you would have done some basic research yourself

Hmmm, when I was a new starter I didn’t read threads that meant nothing to me!

We don’t have t##t written on our foreheads!

lordy, abbey

you really don't know janey do you

.......... she has one of the busiest lives of anyone that I know

and she is also one of the best researchers on these boards.

you two have managed to really tee off so many people that it is unbelievable ...... and you have conned so many people into giving you the same advice time after time by posting thread after thread.

I think enough people have kept copies of your threads that we can prove you wrong in your continued denials as to what you have or have not done, or have or have not posted.

What is it?

Is the information that has been found for you at least 10 or 12 times not the information that you want to hear?

What information DO you want?

We don't manufacture it you know ......... we go to www.freebmd.org.uk to find the marriage registration

you've been given that url several times

It is free to use that site, so you don't need to have anyone else to do the search for you.

However .........................

THEN you have to buy the certificate from the General Registry Office for £9.25 ...... we all have to buy certificates for our ancestors. They are not avaliable anywhere on the web, so NO-ONE is able to give more exact information that that found on freebmd.

That url is www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

you have to register with them, but it is free to do that. Then you have to have a credit card so that you can charge the fee.

I hope this explains things for you

I find many things vastly amusing, and while ordinarily, and intrinsically, you're pretty boring, I find you far more amusing than the very difficult (even for me - that's why they give it to me) and very boring piece of work that's been on my monitor since Saturday. Poo Bear and her niece, or the Statutory Instruments Act? Well, the latter pays a lot more handsomely, that's for sure. Just even more boring.

Anybody else find this statement in the OP amusing?

"i belive a rough date for the marriage is somewhere in april may or june 1892 although i'm not certain"

Hmm. April, May or June 1892. Sounds suspiciously like a registration quarter, doesn't it??

I wonder, I wonder. Where could such a piece of information possibly have come from???

Not something a rank newbie would just make up, I don't think, I don't. ;)

Is it in one of Abbey's threads, Lynn???

Oh dear, they never existed, did they?

Where *did* you get that bit of info, Lynn???

One of those whispery PMs from the people so eager to tell you stuff?

Nah.

Hmm. It's way wrong, though, so maybe you did just make it up ...

jax

jax Report 22 Jun 2010 18:58

Anyway what is the point of giving 'either' of you any infomation? you don't take any notice.

When I replied to lynn's 1st post about Lawrence I gave the 1911 census which gave details of his parents George and Ruth and how long they had been married which was 26 years ....so why post this and say they married in 1892 just wasting our time

Christine

Christine Report 22 Jun 2010 18:28

A comment was made in one of the deleted threads I still have open in a tab that attention-seeking was being accommodated.

Too troo, I think.

The rest of us do feel a duty to warn others about behaviour like this, unfortunately.

Maybe we should stick to doing that.

It probably won't eliminate the possibility of getting more PMs telling us we've f*ed with the wrong family, or what sk*y wh*s we are, but we'd save time.

I didnt know any of the details which you give to lynn That was the first post I posted abt the surname Addison and to be honest it was a curiosity thing to see if anyone would reply because it was me

JaneyCanuck

jax, "ABBEY" (as christine) was posting about the George Addison + Ruth marriage IN MAY.

That was when *I* first replied about it, and why I didn't recognize her/the question when I replied to it AGAIN in June. TWICE in June, as a matter of fact.

Maybe I really am just old and forgetful.

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 22 Jun 2010 18:12

Isn't it just, jax?!

Do we look stupid, "ABBEY"?

The TWO threads I just copied above were both by YOU and were both specifically about THE ADDISON MARRIAGE that this thread is about.

"Trying to find Ruths surname"
"Trying to find when and where they were married"

Can you really not read???

I would LOVE to quote the other threads, especially the other ones where I explained all about doing the search in careful detail, not to mention the ones where other people DID THE SEARCH and POSTED THE MARRIAGE DETAILS.

Seriously. What is wrong with you, "ABBEY"???

jax

jax Report 22 Jun 2010 18:08

Ok so Lynn posts on the 17th june asking for info on Lawrence Addison....which I find giving his parents names ect from various census
Few days later you both post about George Addison (the father) so my post must have been seen unless you already knew these details?
I personally do not know about any other threads about this family as I do not see all of them, but others may have helped on them

Have you searched at FreeBMD?
http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl
If not -- quick, easy, free and fun to do yourself!
Just search for
Addison
George
married
[no surname]
Ruth
edit - I did the search and the marriage seems to be there, no problem, so I won't spoil your fun and give you the results.
You can also search for the children's births, etc.

Well aren't I dim. ;)
You're pretty unbelievable, carrie/abbey/christine. Pretty unbelievable. Too obviously as lazy as you are rude..
And now ... poof goes this thread, I don't doubt!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Funny how Abbey has made her way to this yet another thread about the same thing -- and hasn't managed to pass on to Lynn everything that she, Abbey, has been offered in the last two months.

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 22 Jun 2010 17:21

The information posted here by others about using FreeBMD to find the marriage (in five seconds) has been offered to these "two" individuals MULTIPLE times in the past by ME ALONE, not to mention all the other innocent helpers who have replied to all their other repetitive threads about THE SAME THING.

Evidently NEITHER ONE OF THEM, or any of the other alter egos they may come up with, has ever lifted a finger in her life to do something for herself that she can make someone else do for her -- or even noticed when someone else has done it for her, as multiple people have done right here, multiple times, in the last couple of weeks.

Nobody here gives a flying fig WHO you are. It's WHAT you are, which is obvious to the world, that is the problem.

Those of us who have been following them, and receiving this one's abusive and obscene private messages, would love to offer links to the complete list of their repeated identical threads (and the vile insults and abuse flung by them in those threads at people tired of their antics), but sigh, they seem to have disappeared ...
