Take not much notice of ages on records, they were a guess most times!

He must have been overseas in 1891 as hes not on the UK census

I think the US 1891 was destroyed?

It will all come together in the end. All the those records I posted are your man and his family.

The New York journey is confusing me somewhat now...but you/ve hit the nail on the head Ginny as Ernest was the oldest son and Albert was the one born in Austrailia...just trying to find a way to piece it together

Dont think so Andy, he was born in 1863 and arrived back c.
1897

As his son *Albert* was born in Melbourne in 1893 and his next Daughter in 1898 just after their return I know they were in Australia during this period

A bit of a shot in the dark but could someone with access look up Reuben Weston from Leicester on a passenger list to Australia somewhere between 1890 and 1892. His son, my Great Grand father was born in Melbourne in 1893. He may of been travelling with a man named George Moore.
Apparently he also travelled to the U.S via New York in the 1880s, though i/m even less optmistic of finding that journey
