Hi Anthony,
Do I ever need help with my Scottish roots! My great great grandmother was Mary Cameron born may 21 1834 in Gorbals Glasgow according to Scotlands People. She married William Steele on Feb 26th 1854 in Glasgow. At least two of her offspring emigrated to NZ and eventually there was me. I am trying to find her parents and siblings. I believe her father was a Donald Cameron, there were at least 4 other siblings of which two were twins. Not much to go on, Can you help?
cheers
Robyn

Hello Anthony
Thank for offer of look ups for Scotland.
I wonder if you can find the marriage of Michael Dunn and Amelia Fiddes b 1835 Aberdeen, parents as shown on their daughter Mary's marriage cert. I don't know the date but daughter Mary was born 1853 in Dundee so I'm assuming that was where they married too.
Please don't waste a lot of your time on this as I realise that my information is scanty!
Thanks
Ann

Hi Anthony,
Was wondering if you could help me find this couples marriage I have a Ann Henderson born 20th sept.1838 and a James Sim born c 1838. According to their son Edward's birth cert. they married in Longside Aberdeen 14th June 1856. Their first son was James Sim born 17 feb 1857 at Peterhead Burgh, Aberdenshire. All their children were registered, and I have them on all the census's from 1861 on. I have their death certs. but I would like to find their marriage I have tried Scotlands People and there is nothing there for this couple. I was hoping to get further back with James Sim as his death cert. only shows a possible father Alexander Sim, not much to go on. If I could find their marriage cert.I was hoping to get more information from that to help me go further back I have all Ann Hendersons info further back.
Any help would be most appreciated Brenda.

I have Robert Cock born 1689 in Clackmannan Perthshire, he married Euphan Ruthven, they had 7 children one of whom was Charles Cock born 1786 in Alloa Clackmannan. Does anyone know any other details please, I know that in 1815 he lived in Ashton=under=Lyne Lancashire but do not know when he left Scotland. Later in the Census the name became COX so obviously a spelling error way back. Joyce Cox

Gretna seemed an odd place to marry when she lived all her life in London as I belive back then you had to take residence for about 3 weeks before you could marry,,,,,,I dont know how Gretna marriage work from back then as they didnt come under any Scots ruling or English and anyone could marry you,,,as long as two witnesses oversee it, there was usually a qoue to do this as they charged the couple !!!!!((thats now changed))perhaps they divorced and she went back to her maiden name,?
did they have any children??

Anthony William, if you are offering look ups for Scotland I would love some help trying to find my gr.grandmother's sister Ann Stewart b.c. 1840 in Glasgow.
She is on the 1851 census and 1861 living with her grandmother Ann Mitchell and sister (my gr.grandmother ) Margaret Stewart b.c 1843 at 4, Stirling Street, Milton, Glasgow.
I cannot find anything for her after 1861.
On the1851 she is shown as Ann Mitchell living again with her grandmother.
Her parents are Alexander and Agnes nee Mitchell.
Many thanks
jean
