Madmeg have you tried 123 people finder, this site seems to have a lot more connections to social networks and 192 and more.
Worth a shot?

Madmeg Report 1 Aug 2010 22:41

Well, I thought we had a breakthrough. Fairthorn found the mother of the children and her partner on the 2000 census living with another couple (maybe relatives). I then found them in 2002 still with the same couple (if not relatives, then good friends?). In 2010 that couple were still at the same address, so I thought BINGO, told my friend to nip round there (he lives in the area) and get an address for the mother. Wouldn't you believe it - the house changed ownership two months ago. So he is off to the estate agent tomorrow, but of course they shouldn't tell him anything confidential, but might pass on a message.

However, the new people at the house recalled that the previous owner worked for a firm making fishing bait - and when my friend asked his dying friend if he knew anything about this he remembered that his ex-partner's husband also worked for a fishing bait company - and he recalled the name - Whizzo Ground Bait. So I am off to post another thread on Whizzo Ground Bait. Do excuse me!

Thanks for all your interest and support.

Margaret

"Wouldn't you believe it - the house changed ownership two months ago."

Strange, as most folks leave their new address so they can forward any post.

Good luck

Yes, Liz, we've found Whizzo Ground Bait. Crikey this is getting to be a mega-trawl. We've even found an article on the internet written by the husband of the mother of the children we are looking for. We've found buckets of stuff in fact, but so far no children.

Zoe, they redirect mail via the post office, don't they, so I suppose I suggest my friend sends them a letter. Good thinking. I am going potty with it all.

Thanks so much for your ideas and thoughts. I now learn there might be some money involved, so Heir Hunters might have to be brought in!

Is your friend that far from the suggested address to go back again ?
They could ask the old neighbours if they know where they went to !

After all 2 months ago is no time at all, ALSO they could ask IF the children ever lived there as well

Strange, the children should have shown on the electoral roll by now !
If the mother is shown usually the entire family is shown as well.

Whizzo Ground Bait is no longer there. The neighbouring shops have no idea where they have gone to. So maybe a letter there is needed too.

A slight chance is that the estate agents who sold the house have agreed to pass on a letter to the previous owners providing that my friend puts it in writing as to why he needs to contact them.

My friend has found a person with the name of the daughter on Facebook and another networking site, and sent messages. Yes, I tried facebook and I didn't find her - but I'm useless at using the site.

Thanks Liz. I forgot to add for Zoe that he did check neighbouring addresses, with no luck, but there is a limit on how many doors you can go knocking on.

I thought I had found the industrial unti 330-338 Wincolmlee, Hull, in which Whizzo Ground Bait were operating, on a for sale site, but it wasn't the right building.

Googling 330 Wincolmlee brings up a string of companies at that address.

Whizzo Ground Bait has some connection with a Sheffield firm, but I haven't found that yet.

I can't believe it is this difficult to find someone.

It looks as if Whizzo Ground Bait may be a make of bait, and possibly not the name of the company. If you enter "Sheffield Ground Bait Companies" there are several appearing, perhaps one of them could help you.
Still looking!

I wonder if they have their mail forwarded by the post office when they move. We did. So may be worth posting a letter to that address.

Just keeping people informed.

Whizzo Groundbait went bust 3 years ago. But I've found a possible new employment for the stepfather of the children - in a totally different part of the country.

Both mother and stepfather of the children have been found by different routes - I'm not quite sure what led to what, as there had to be a lot of possibles eliminated, which is all part of the research process.

My friend on the Alzheimers website wants me to thank everyone on here for their help, as do I.

Team work eh?
