Christine...dont know how much of the above you already have but you shouldn't have too much trouble finding the Priestley/Gill family as the Gills (if it is the right Elizabeth (Mother of Charles) are all listed for Stanley-cum Wrenthorpe..Eliz.place of birth given as Potovens...(thats Stanley Cum Wrenthorpe).....Only caution is there were Priestley's in Wosbro' where James Firth came from but none that correspond with a Charles...

you have helped me get lots of information about lily firth ie.her children. marrage to charles priestley the children from their marrage,now i would like to know if anyone out there can help in finding out what happened to violet priestley her youngest child as far as i know .violet my mother ,she was born 13th june 1920 and died 10th november 2007, she alwayss said she would take her past to the grave and may still take a little of it charles died in dec 1/4 1918 my mum was born 1920 so charles was not her father,on her birth cert the address was 5 wharfe st swinton thats whare lily firth was in the 1891 and 1901 census aged 6 and 8 so she had gone back home.the name of the father and his occupation was just crossed through.,her mum was registered as a housekeeperso who lived there then?she had 6 other childre.My mum told me she was a orphan and put in banardos.isent a search fee and they have found her but i have to wait 4-5 months for it to be processed did she put all her children in the home?violet(my mum) told me lher mother wanted to marry again the man who she was to marry wouldnt take on the children(she told me this afters she had a couple of sherries one xmas)banardos want £60 to process the finding wow, this may be a long shot but who know,also did lily marry again?who to?did she have any more children?what happened when she left Banardos thats the next chapter between 1934 til1943 thanks for all your help but dont think ill find out much more find out much more regards chris
