Hi DVP
I believe the 1871 census you have refers to the Handrahan family (Andron is a weird mis-spelling). I think the James in 1871 is aged 13, not 3.

1881 census : living at 13 Garrick Grove, Chiswick, lodging with John & Bridget Phelan
Mary Handrahan, 45, lodger, widow, born Ireland
James, 23, lodger, unmarried, labourer, born Chiswick
Jeremiah, 14, lodger, labourer, born Chiswick
Bridget & Mary, lodgers, 12, scholars, born Chiswick

1871 census : living at 35 William St, Chiswick
John Andron, 40, agricultural labourer, born Ireland
Mary Andron, 34, agricultural labourer, born Ireland
John, 15, agricultural labourer, born Chiswick
James, 13, scholar, born Chiswick
Michael, 10, scholar, born Chiswick
Jeremiah, 4, scholar, born Chiswick
Bridget & Mary, 2, born Chiswick

Hi Vera

Sorry for such a late reply but only just got in.

I will most certainly let you know as I have decided that I will send for the certificate next week sometime. I'm not sure how long it takes these days as I sent for a certificate last month & it took about 3 weeks to arrive.

I was very interested in the Handren family that you found on the 1861 Census. I will try to investigate that a little further I think.

I'm begining to think that the Andron's just did not want to be found ??.

Again, many many thanks for all your efforts.

Best wishes & Until next time
DVP

Hi DVP,

If you do send for the birth certificate for John Hallaham...I would be most interested to know the outcome. If you wouldn't mind letting me know.

Best Wishes

I realize you're not sure of his family, but if you got a marriage cert of one of the family that you think is possibly his then it would give you an idea if you're on the right track.

Hi Ozibird

I'm afraid that because I have never found his birth record therefore no mother I do not know at this stage if & how many siblings he may of had.

The witnesses to his marriage were
James Davis & Mary Cronin

The address for bride & groom plus Mary Cronin were given as 10, Gilbert Street.

Mary Cronin's occupation given as a Flower Seller.

John's occupation was given as a Costermonger.

Kind regards

No ages recorded on death indices at that time.

Would it be worthwhile getting another child's marriage cert to see if it says the same thing?

I guess the witnesses on his marriage cert aren't any help?

T in Middx

sorry for delay.

Johns father was called James & his occupation was given as a Bill Poster. This info was given on Johns Marriage Certificate to Margaret A Faregrave June 1882 it also stated that James was deceased.
