If I understood you correctly, you said that the 1925 death cert said that she was the widow of John Robson.

If that's so, her maiden name can't have been Robson - unless she was a Robson who married another Robson.
As May's birth was registered as Robson, with no father mentioned, that confirms that May's mother's maiden name was Robson.

You mention Minnie, William and Edith Mary in the same grave.
Do you know who these people were? Does the inscription give any indication of their relationship to Kate?

To show their ages at death:

Ms Edid Mary Robson
in the England and Wales, Death Index, 1989-2019
Name: Ms Edid Mary Robson
Gender: Female
Age: 95
Birth Date: 1910
Last Residence: Hull, Yorkshire, England
Postal Code District: HU5
Death Date: 19 Dec 2005

Deaths Mar 1935 (>99%)
Robson Minnie 32 Hull 9d 307

As far as I can see, they weren't Kate's daughters.

William didn't die in Hull or Sculcoates districts, in spite of being buried there.
Does the stone give his age?

Who registered the death in 1900?

We know she isn't the woman you're related to, but she could be the one on the censuses..............we need to be sure, if possible, which one that is

Are you sure that the birth for May Marion is the correct one?

Is it possible that you have assumed it was the right one because it was registered in Hull?

I ask, because your grandmother had no middle name shown at either marriage or death.

There’s a Probate for William Robson - 1958, NOT 1968, with widow ENID
Can’t C&P as I’m now on my iPad

There’s death in Hull in OND 1958 of a William aged 61

I wonder if Enid was his second wife, as I posted earlier a marriage of a William to Minnie

No wonder I couldn’t find a death for EDITH!

William and ENID are on 1939 - in Hull

They married in OND 1935.......Minnie having died in JFM 1935

I think that William married Minnie then the same year she died, 1935, he married Minnie's sister Enid Mary. I believe their maiden name was Spencely/Spenceley.

William was therefore born 1897-ish (1896 according to 1939 Register) - so probably is indeed William "Pearson" , who was 4 in 1901 and 14 in 1911.

Please answer my question about the informant on the 1900 death cert

ErikaH ... The death of Kate Robson, certificate was registered by J A Acton, Occupier of house. Her occupation Housekeeper Domestic. Having looked at it previously, I believed this man could be the father of her child. She died of Typhoid fever and heart failure after confinement.

Gwyn in Kent: No just says "son present at death" - he may have lived there? I'd never heard of him before so it was a surprise to me. Thank you!

Yes that's correct. Robson is the only name I have for her, whether it's her married or maiden name. I thought she wasn't married when I got her daughter's birth cert with no indication of a father. Then when I got the death cert for Catherine and it states "widow of John Robson" it made me curious??? Minnie and Enid Mary are sisters (think were Spenceley) - so Robson only by marriage to William.

Also, my grandma was definitely May Marion (it's on the headstone of a family grave) although spelt Marian rather than Marion.

There's a lot if info to take in but I appreciate expert help.4
