pm not yet opened.

Maybe Alan is away for the Bank Holiday weekend ........

I note that the 1st reply was within 10 minutes of his posting, so he wasn't around long, or maybe didn't realise he would get a quick response.
I 've told him how to return and reply to his thread.....

I hope Alan Nicholas has a look on Google for some of these names.
There's loads of information out there.......
It's great to have a good result.
Well done all.
Now if only I could find my Henry's parents...... *sigh*

Well done all you guys - what terrific work here! You have all earned a pat on the back, cream cake or wee hauf whichever you prefer.

Some of our ancestors don't half go out of their way to hide from us.

I wonder if uncle's Will had something to do with the name change...?

Found on a Google search

Henry Coulston (1862-1924)“Born in 1862, Henry Joseph Coulston succeeded estates under his great uncle’s will in 1901 and took up residenceat Hawkshead in Bolton-le-Sands. He was admitted to the Bar in 1884, and two years later married Mary Hodgson of Grange-over-Sands. Coulston was an extensive landowner… He became a county magistrate in1896, and was elected onto Lancaster Rural District Council in 1892, becoming the oldest member and serving as chairman of the highways committee from 1901. He was elected to the county council in 1903 and became alderman of the county in 1916… He died in 1924 at the age of 62.”
