Wow.
What can I say.
So much input. In such a short time.
Where do you all get this information?
I'll take a while to digest all this.

Thanks so much.

I know she did, but mine was the actual burial record... kinda ties it all up nicely.

Elizabeth was born in 1846, which is why I asked about a birth certificate.
The extracted record was posted a minute before my question, whilst I was still typing.

So, proof positive we have a John Pitcher death, whether he's ours is the next Q. The actual burial register might give an address to cross match with the baptism of the last child George.

Glenn, if i were you i'd still contact the records office there in Sussex and get them the check George's baptism details and John's death.

A submitted entry Dea.

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 28 Aug 2010 10:01

Sorry Susan, but ???? doesn't mean anything!!

Simply adding that it was a submitted record and explaining the meaning of this to a newbie (IE the poster) would have been better!

Hahaha, Dea... at least we are consistant!

Dea, Susan did not state it's a submitted record, and while there are 2 entries for this person (same date) we should still get proof, submitted records have a nasty habit of biting you on the bum!

OOOhh - It looks like Susan has found him - she posted above.

Sorry Susan, I missed that - well done!

Is it submitted or extracted??

Ssusan,

Thats interesting, but you did not state that is a submitted record. These are a good guideline, but not always correct.

We need the actual death entry, Glenn??? You still with us? You might need to contact the records office in Sussex and ask them to do a search for you for the death (with the suggested date) and see what they can prove for you. (there might be a charge for this)

John is on Christening records of:

Mary Ann, 1827
Robert, 1829
John, 1830
William Thomas, 1832
and George in 1835 (born 28th August, 1834.

So he seems to have died somewhere between 1834 and 1841.

EDIT - Snap Tracey
Xxx

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 28 Aug 2010 09:54

Hmmm lots of children born to the couple...

Mary Ann - 1827
Robert - 1829
John - 1830
William Thomas - 1832
George - 1834

Elizabeth - 1846

I think John has died after 1834 and before 1846!
