Patricia,

There were no 'birth certficates' in 1828!

It's baptism records only!

Have you got the birth certificate for Elizabeth, to see who is claimed as Father?

Dea,

Your right, it does say Widow... Hmmm.....

The enumerator has crossed it out when he has transcribed his figures across.

Soooooooo, devine conception for some of the children?

If someone could look at this image on 1841 please.

Strangely, it looks as though she was already a widow on here, although it is difficult to read and it has been crossed out?

For clarity, the 1851 census.

Sarah is listed as a Widow in 1851, however there is no death for John in Sussex. Is it possible he died over the border in Kent?

Hello.
Sarah Banks married John Pitcher in Seaford 12th. Dec.1826
They had two children, George (b.28th.Aug.1834) and Elizabeth (b.1846)
Can not find anywhere the date of her death, but probably after 1870, as she was still working at that time. Also what happened to her husband? John Pitcher is not in the 1851 census for Seaford. Did he die? or devorced?

Hope someone can help.

Thanks.

Glenn
