good afternoon everyone
i wonder if some can assist me in finding harriet hartley here,s what i know
from marriage cert she was 19 in 1856 when she married william pease (i have all in fomation on william pease ) in leeds parish church so dob of birth would be around 1837 as i said she married in 1856 i can find her in the 1861 census with husband william & 2 children (will post below for ref ) but she died in 1868
what i can,t find is her in a census in 1841 or 1851 befor she married
her marriage cert states that her father was john hartley (occupation ) forgeman or forman and she was living at cromwell street leeds at the time of her marriage i wonder if someone can locate her in the 1841 or the 1851 census so i can find out who her mother was or if she had sibling s

hi all again
i wonder if anyone can help me further the infomation found on harriet hartley is brilliant but i can,t seam to find her mother & father,s wedding date the confusing thing i have is that on the census with her parent,s her father is james but on her marriage cert it says he was john ??? so have looked for marrige for both james & john to a martha but coming up with nothing i have been searching since i got the infomation from you kind people yesterday but to no avail wonder if i,m looking too hard
i,m guessing it would have been in the yorkshire area & befor 1837 when harriet was born as both her paret,s state theywere born in gildersome leeds

The marriage would most likely be before 1837 which is when civil registration first began. I would suggest looking at parish records of churches in the Gildersome area.
The fact that her mother was shown on the census records as older than the man shown as her husband (James) may indicate that perhaps the mother had been married before she married James. That being the case it is possible that James was not Harriet's natural father.
