Thanks Argyllgran and AustinQ

I have managed to find the death notice of John by googling names and Port Colborne.

I guess as the time is less than 100 years, records online are unlikely to be available.

I now live in Ontario also, so it’s interesting to see other ancestors who made the move across.

I will see if anyone has John in their tree on here.

Again thank you for your help.

Frederick A Littlejohns
in the England & Wales, Civil Registration Marriage Index, 1916-2005
Name: Frederick A Littlejohns
Date of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar 1920
Registration district: Kingston
Inferred County: Surrey
Spouse: Mary E E Vye
Volume Number: 2a
Page Number: 813

So Frederick must have gone to Canada between 1920 and 1925.

Don't see him on Canadian or UK passenger lists on Ancestry, but this looks like the family in 1957:

Frederick Littlejohns
in the Canada, Voters Lists, 1935-1980
Name: Frederick Littlejohns
Occupation: Iron Works
Year: 1957
Location: Welland, Ontario, Canada
Electoral District: Welland

At same address:
Mary E
John (National H Board)

Still stuck on this, I can’t find the family once they enter into Canada.

Hi Margarent, thank you for that.

that could be a relative of some sort.

Althought I expect the names to be Littlejohns for descendants, as I would imagine Mary (Betty's) father would of been too old to remarry and have more children.

Province: Ontario

thank you ever so much for your help.

So I need to try and trace where they ended up, it looks like Fred was in Ontario??? so perhaps they were headed there.

Images sent. Looks as though they were going to stay.

CelticShiv Report 12 Sep 2010 16:07

ahhh so Charles Vye is her father. Does it look like they were going there to stay or just visiting do you think?

I can't find them returning to the UK and I can't find what happened to husband Fred.

that is interesting, thank you very much.

His mother's maiden name was Vye, her full name Mary Elizabeth Vye, maybe in short Betty Vye, wonder who Charles was in relation to her??

and wonder where the husband Frederick Littlejohns is, father of said John.

I only have access to UK ancestry, so don't think I can view the Canadian passenger lists on there.

would someone be so kind to provide details of

John Littlejohns born 1921, leaving from Liverpool to Canada in 1925.

he may be a possibility as an ancestor of mine.

I have access to ancestry.co.uk (premium) so will happily help with a search on there in return if needed.

thank you in advance.
