sorry, no, not on birth cert. only address at that time. I was confused again. I know he was born birkenhead. sorry. as for the name.. On marriage certificate he was evan john, as I said, but I cant find John.. John Evan, or evan john. he didnt have other names. thanks

another bit of info that i havent been able to trace more of..my father in law had a brother george quoyle or quayle gill. who died in WW11. service no.4127275, cheshire regiment. also born birkenhead. in north africa on 6.4.1943. my father in laws army number was 4127012. but I dont know if I can get any more details from army records either. am stuck, and have spent more than I should this month!..many thanks for your interest!..doreen

no. my father in laws marriage cert just says evan john gill. born birkenhead. father robert. but other records show him as john evan, which we all knew him as, not as evan john. no body is alive now, who remembers what annas maiden name was! thanks for your help! doreen
