If you find ALL subject lines in capitals obnoxious, why dont you add on to other peoples threads, (not just mine ) and tell them your views

Actually, I find all all-capital-letter subject lines totally obnoxious. I do assume that newbies don't know any better.

I wasn't asking what you are trying to find out. I was asking what you expect to accomplish by constantly pushing your thread back onto the front page. You did it four times in the last several hours. It is universally considered to be bad manners in discussion forums to do that, and some forums very reasonably prohibit it.

edit re posts below -- as was perfectly obvious from my first post, my point was that disruptive behaviour -- mainly the constant nudging, but also the loud subject line -- was pointless and ill-advised.

How come when others put their subject line in block capitals you dont seem to have a go a them ? Or maybe its just a personal thing you have against me I wonder

Sorry abt the caps but if your read my original post you will see what info I am trying to find out

Christine, blaring your subject line in loud capital letters and constantly nudging your post onto the front page to bump someone else's request is really not going to get you anything.

People have done what they seem to be able to do to assist. What more, exactly, are you expecting?

Thanks Rootgatherer
Parents of Margaret are definately Daniel and Mary as stated in James s birth cert so that is the trail I have to follow

rootgatherer

rootgatherer Report 4 Oct 2010 09:27

Assuming that you ancestor is James Sutherland Marshall, then his birth certificate will give you the date and place of his parents' marriage. If that is the marriage certificate that has Margaret's parents as Daniel and Mary then the death certificate of Margaret Marshall maiden surname McMillan with parents John and Christine is not your Margaret.

Hi Rootgatherer

Margarets Death Cert gives her spouse as William Marshall and informant was W Marshall widower

James Sutherland Marshall born 28 sept 1926 Birth Cert gives his parents as William Marshall and Margaret Mcmillan

On Margarets Marriage Cert to William Marshall in 1922 gives her age as 18 thus born 1904 Parents Daniel McMillan and Mary Paton

rootgatherer

rootgatherer Report 2 Oct 2010 09:01

Christine, does the death certificate give the correct spouses please? Can you tie in the informant to a known relative of your Margaret please? If you can, then that looks like the correct birth.

How did you get back to the marriage certificate of Margaret that gives her parents as Daniel and Mary Paton please? Could there be two different Margaret's here?

Your relative's birth certificate will give the date and place of the parents marriage - have you got that correct?

Tell us please how you got to the marriage that gives the parents as Daniel and Mary.
