Hi Rootgather

Mary's age in 1926 was given as 57 years. Her parents were: James Paton, labourer and Mary Paton m.s. McColgan

Christine.......if you want to send me your email address by pm I will send you the images of the marriage and RCE entries....and Mary's death cert too.

Christine
You should find William's second marriage on Scotlandspeople.

Mary
Do you know what Age Mary was when she died in 1926 please? Just trying to find her on any census records either as Paton, McVicar or McMillan.

Thanks for your help and patience

RCE = Register of corrected entries.

When you look at the marriage entry for William Marshall in 1934, it will appear then, click on it for all the information (2 credits to view).

Hi Christine

I've not been able to find a marriage for Mary Paton to McVicar nor for her marriage to Daniel McMillan either......but according to her death cert in 1926 it gives her as widow of:
1. ---- McVicar
2. Daniel McMillan - paint works labourer

and it was registered by her son Archie McMillan of 12 Wood Street, Port Dundas, Glasgow.

Mary

Edit: to add........I could only find 3 births pre 1926 for an Archie McMillan but none of them have the correct parents. :-((

Thanks all This is totally confusing
Dont know where and when Daniel and Mary were married, got their names from the marriage cert of William Marshall and Margaret McMillan
Also have the death cert of William Marshall he died in Perth in 1959 and death was registered by his son James
Know that James had half brothers John and William Jnr and sisters who possibly came from Williams 2nd marriage in 1934

I can't see a marriage on Scotlandspeople for Daniel M*Millan to Mary Paton or McVicar. I was thinking that if you knew where and when they married it may be easier to track down Margaret's birth registration.

Contrary Mary Report 28 Sep 2010 13:35

Naughty William Marshall married again in 1934 saying that he was a widower......but there is an RCE entry - have a look!! ;-))

He died in 1959.
