I have sent a message to Samantha just in case she doesn't know how to get back to her thread as she says she is new to all of this. |

I don't think the family Ginny found in the 1901 census is the correct one as that Elizabeth A. Hancox is 2 years old and your Elizabeth would only be about 6 months old at the time of the 1901 census. |

Well done Ginny. I didn't read the post properly and missed the place of birth. |

Hi.If it is a little red one about 6inch wide, this is the cheaper version that many people took, but if you apply for a full copy giving all the info from that certificate, along with the Vol Number and page. (lkike 4a 560??) it will cost you £9.50. and you can get it from the registry office or from the Central registry. Southport. Lancs. Ethel. |

hi im very new to all of this so any advice would be great, i have been given my great grandmothers birth certificate, it looks like the original, it is slightly useless as it has none of her parents names on it, her name is elizabeth hancox and she was born oct28th 1900, in wolstanton stoke-on-trent, could she have been adopted or something, also any clues as to where i go from here, i have tried to find free cencus records online but dont know if you can actually get these, kindest regards sami |
