I have used this service and can recommend. The guy does it for a hobby and can do the research at the Scottish Records Office for you at cost.

Hi Sandra,

I had same problem with my canny Scots lot..as a army gtgtgrandad I found married in East Indies for the first time a scots lassie ,which then confirmed the sons marriage details....and the later children gave second wifes name.

Helen,

I think you may be right as I have the same children on my tree as Arthur and Annie, I've obviously got the other details wrong.

The trouble is, my daughter started the tree, she gave up and I took over so I'm getting a little confused as to how she has Jane as a wife and not Annie.

Thank you all for your patience.

I have to go shopping now, so won't be on for a while.

I'd give consideration to the census where it states Arthur Campbell was born in Demerara, Guyana. (used to be known as Guinea)
