I am going to try from my partners side just to see if I can get the Skeates / sceates to match. You never know with two varients of the same surname and both in london area.

only thing is can't get a date of birth for his dad but am going into bedford town and know where they lived when my partner was a teenager so will see if I can look it up there.

You lot are funny! Thanks for the help. It really is an interesting name and when I search on ancestry there seems to be so many variants of the name.

It's a while since you posted but if you are still interested in the SCEATS then I have quite a lot of data on them. I also have some descendant history for the SNAZELS from Letitia SCEATS and JAMES SNAZEL.
I am on genes but I do not know how to make my tree available for you to see - if you are interested that is.
