Vera that's a possible though I think it's unlikely, i believe there were other family members who would have taken her in rather than her being sent to an orphanage perhaps, but will check it out when I have my own pc back.

Perhaps if she was taken in by another family member she took their surname.She doesnt appear for marriages death etc under Whetman or its variations that i can pick up.
