Another duh moment is Marie who died in 1902, presumably she's Emile's mother 'Mary' from census 1901?

John Halifax Lind is the witness on Charles marriage record - he married Margueritte. Lots of different spellings but obviously the right family

Do you think that De Maligny and Maligny are the saqme families ?

Thats ok Kuciinta - you've helped alot - thanks. Just found a John Maligny marriage in Rochdale, Manchester in 1856 - I dont know when Emile and family came to the uk. Maybe Emile and mother Mary were born in France but father was English - just a thought !

I have found Emile Henri;s death record but cant find another before 1911. If I enter De Maligny only names beginning with M come up ! Very fustrating
