Hi;

I wonder if anyone can help me find members of the DE MALIGNY family please.

EMILE DE MALIGNY b1851 - French subject. married GRACE BAILEY( b 1854 in Winchmore Hill, London.) in1876 in London. They had 7 children :-

Charles Eugene 1878 - 1960
Jeanne Matilda 1879 - 1963 - My grt uncles wife
Raymond Alain 1883 - Dropped the "de"
Emile Henri 1884 - 1884
Bertie Maurice 1885
Harold Adolphe 1889 - 1921
Margueritte Irene 1895

Emile's mother Mary De Maligny b 1828 is a French Subject and living with him in 1901

In 1901 the family lived in Croydon where Emile is a professor of languages. This is the only record I can find of them under Maligny or De Maligny - they seem to have vanished.

Grace died in 1920 and Emile married again in 1921 and died in 1932 but I cant find either in the probate records.

Harold married Edith Hilda Sanders in 1910, Margueritte married John Halifax Lind in 1914 and Jeanne Matilda married my gtr uncle Harry Clifford Butt.

I have found a few Maligny's but no De Maligny's but I can't place them with any of mine as there isn't enough information. As it is an unusual name I imagine that they are connected somehow.

Any ideas as to who these may be - Winifred J Maligny, Millicent W A Maligny, Edith H Maligny, Millicent J Maligny and Emily Maligny - some found in marriages and some in death records but are they connected to my De Maligny family.

If anyone can help find the missing census records including 1911 or find any more info on them I would be very grateful.

Thank you

Rosie
