Living in Burnley ? Was it Park Street ?

There is this entry on lancsOPC which I dismissed because it wasn't Preston.

Baptisms: 3 Mar 1851 St James, Burnley, Lancashire, England
William Macduff - Child of William Macduff & Ann
Abode: Park St
Baptised by: Henry Wray

Trouble is, they already have a son William, in fact they had 2 (first one died)

Lancashire Death indexes for the years: 1839
MCDUFF William- 0 -Preston Preston

Am now wondering if there are 2 families of William and Ann McDuff with a son William.

In 1838 "Full Age" would mean 21 or more. ( Mind you, some lied !!)

Have you found them on 1851 census? That should give their ages and birthplace.

Williamand Ann's son William born 1842 married Alice Cornthwaite that is where i found the link with a member of genes. i thinking he might of re married to or he could of moved to scotland where is father was born i definately need to research him more

Rebecca Report 27 Nov 2010 22:39

unfortnately the marriage cert isnt much use for ages it just says they are both full age i guessing that means they where over 18. But great georges street does ring a bell so it does look like it could be her.

Maybe the reason for the youngest children being in the workhouse in 1861............

Burial: 20 Jun 1858 St John, Preston, Lancashire, England
Ann McDuff -
Age: 40
Abode: Great Georges St
Buried by: J. Wilson

Would need to establish age of Agnes's mother to see if this is indeed her.
Ages may be on the marriage certificate of 1838
