Hazel,

I've had a look on Scotlandspeople for the marriage but no matches coming up.

However, I found a possible death for Ann M*Kenzie / Tweeddale in 1928 in the county of Midlothian ... District: Leith.

Could be the writing on the original marriage certificate was difficult to decipher and so is not transcribed onto Scotlandspeople.

Did you get the marriage info from one of their children's birth certificates ?

Hazel,

Glad you managed to download the marriage certificate successfully. With both sets of parents registered, you will now be able to take your research back a further generation.

Happy to help out with any other queries in future.

Helen.

Hazel,

I think the Scotlandspeople website must be acting up at the moment.

I logged in and then it wouldn't let me log out again.

Won't let me log in to look at my previous searches at all now.

Don't waste any more of your credits meantime until things settle down.

If credits have been taken out as you say, chances are once the site corrects the problem, your lost credits won't actually have been lost and the certificate may be there waiting to be viewed.

Just wondering Hazel,

Have you managed to register with Scotlandspeople and have you paid for and received the 30 credits.

If so ... is it just that you can't find the 'matches' for the marriage and death certificates.

Or is it a computer problem you need help with.

Helen

Helen Report 1 Dec 2010 12:24

Have to go out for a while but I'll get back later and try and talk you through loading the certificates.

It's no bother once you know how.

Hazel

Helen

Helen Report 1 Dec 2010 11:24

I've checked again for the death of Mary ... and it's coming up fine.

Use the two names ... Grant and McPhilips. The option is there.

Hazel

Hazel Report 1 Dec 2010 11:21

Hazel

Hazel Report 1 Dec 2010 11:17

thanks will try again

Helen

Helen Report 1 Dec 2010 11:11

Have you put in the given spelling for McPhilips .... one less letter L

Scotlandspeople take their info from the original record and Mary McPhilips will have spelled her name this way.
