Hello All,
I have just become aware that my relation Thomas Stephens Rooke born 1844 Probus Cornwall to Alexander Rooke and Frances Stephens was married in Toronto Canada on 23-9-1875 to Sarah Carter. Sarah's parents were Richard and Sarah Carter.
Would someone please help me to find out when he went to Canada and if possible when Sarah went there as well. It is unlikely that Thomas and Sarah had any children given their ages but I suppose it is possible .
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

No children when he was only 31. Why not? How old was Sarah, you have her parents, so maybe you have her on a census.

Hello Meg,
Sarah's parents names were on the marriage. I have no idea how old Sarah was. It just said that sarah came from england. Same for Thomas. I have not found her on any census. The marriage said that Thomas was a Chemist. This is all the info i have. Sorry.

Thanks for that info. I always thought he had died young until someone found a marriage for him in Canada. I wonder if he went to Canada with the navy.

Hello Lindsey,
Thank you very much for those census results. Very much appreciated. Seems there are no children.
Is there any way of finding deaths forThomas and Sarah.
Also I forgot to ask before about a Grace Rooke. Grace was a witness on Thomas marriage notice. Would I have to have a new posting for her?

Hello Margaret,
I'm not sure on that one. Lindsey found him on several census, last one being 1891 where he was a doctor in Vancover.I suppose he may have quit his profession and gone farming. Is Gibson's landing near Vancouver? His wife Sarah died in 1915 in Vancouver.

Sarah is on the 1911 census in Vancouver, British Columbia. She's a widow, born October 1838, England, aged 72, emigrated 1873.
Can't find either of them on the 1901 Canadian census though.
