Well as he has three forenames to chose from he could well be going under any of them. He could have dropped his middle names and just be going under Jonathan, rearranged his names etc. It could be quite a task to look up all possible connotations of his name and then look back for births to rule out any people found.

I'm guessing the family have tried putting notices in the local papers in case anyone in the area may have any information?

Sadly so many people go missing and who knows how many people may have died unknown in various locations with no names to put to them, no family to claim them. Or people dont want to be found and assume new names and live lives elsewhere.

No, John, the other posting to which I referred was virtually identical to this one (apart from a few words), and you did not post any replies

I am trying to find Jonathan George William Warwick born in 25/11/1946 in Gimingham ,North Walsham, Norfolk. His sisters are Mary 1958 and Katherine 1948. I am married to Mary. Not seen him since 1983 and used PI's to try and find him in 1995 and no luck there either. Cant find him here or on ancestry or any other family tree. Anyone know of his whereabouts.

John, I would try finding him in the electoral register. Jean has a thread on Records Office and will have a look for you. The thread is "WHO ARE YOU LOOKING FOR".
You might also try Friends Reunited.
(What are "PI's" by the way?!)

Private Investigators?

John................

If someone doesn't wish to be found, it's quite easy to arrange to 'disappear'

Of course, der. And I agree with you really Flick, he shouldn't be so hard to find with this name- if he wants to be found.

Also, tried Salvation Army. My wife spoke to them. They couldn't help after their conversation. Don't know why.
According to private investigators that my wife and her sister sent out in 1995 they couldn't find Jonathan.
Seemingly they had a falling out.

Sorry everyone. Had to go out. FLICK i didn't return the other posting as i got the information i needed and thanked the people who helped on this site.

The part about 'wife' in earlier posting was my wife. Sorry, didn't explain clearly.
He disappeard after family dispute or so i am told by my wife.
The family is as follows:
My wife Mary Godfrey (previous married name) 1958-
Katherine Warwick (unmarried) 1948
Jonathan Warwick (don't know if married) 1946

I'm assuming that the 'wife' mentioned is John's wife and it's her brother who hasn't been seen since 1983. Has anyone sent a pm to John to tell him that he has replies? He may not know how to go back to a post.

Rather odd, but "not seen since 1983 by wife", but no marriage on FMP that I can see.

Maybe he doesn't realise - like a lot of people, that Genes doesn't send a message to you to say someone has replied.

I wouldn't be surprised if the chap he is looking for has been living under an assumed name, or left the country or perhaps sadly may have died unknown.

You're wasting your time, ladies. John didn't bother to return to his previous posting.........way back in September

The 'Salvation Army' are usually very good ....... especially as a 'mediator'.

Have you tried them?

maybe there is a reason he doesn't want to be found.

Are you able to tell us the circumstances under which he disappeared?
