Yes Martin, i think it has been mistranscribed and should read Daughter in Law. As you see on the 1861 census, Sarah Lee is their mother and wife of Benjamin.

I cant for the life of me find this family in 1871.........but i am trying!!!

Holly in the 1851 census do you think that Sarah Lee 22 (Step Daughter )could have possibly be the wife of William Lee 21 therfore making her Elizabeth and Joseph lee's Mum ? as there is no mother there present for them

Jax the other one didn't have the right information on it i spoke with my uncle today who has said his mum was from tiger bay which is in cardiff not Brecon.
