ordering the death cert would allow you to see who registered the death and their relationship to her, could be interesting! |

I might just do that, I think my mum might need to see it in writing as she is so surprised plus I have been trying to sort out that side for a while now and it just ties up all the loose ends! |

OMG we are shocked to find out about our family history. My mum cannot believe it but all the information seems to be accurate. Thank you so much to everyone for helping us - we thought we had a bit of a boring history but this has shaken it right up:) |

She died in 1945 so no need for divorce. There is a marriage for a Samuel F Ford in wokingham in 1948 could that be him? |

I have just spoken to my mum and she said that Samuel Ford remarried in about 1950 to a lady from Sunderland. So if Matilda did not die there might be a divorce somewhere. |

hang on on ancestry wills and probate there's an entry for a Arthur Francis Vivian, same name as Matilda's father found on the marriage bans |

I cannot see any births for Ford/Vivian so if a sister had been born she would have been registered unless it was a stillborn birth? |

I have just asked my mum and she does not know, she only remembers my grandad saying that she died giving birth. But I don't understand why I cannot find a death certificate for her. |
