You say Thomas was only able to afford to look after kids of his own - do you know that he had children? Have you found him on any records apart from the marriage?

yes mac they were in the workhouse my grandfer is william, ernest was adopted out at age of 5 to a davies family in haverfordwest, grandfer stayed till he was old enough to work, sad really, they knew their family ernest when he was killed in 1917 during the war, he left his prize money to his grandfather and adopted mother.

elizabeth died at the old pier toll house the place was just below her employer were she worked before marriage unless she was still working there she was known as BESSIE

So she died the day after the wedding? No wonder we haven't found her 1901/11,

no child alive for them they married in 1900 and elizabeth died while 8 months pregnant in april 15th 1900 she had 3 children out of wedlock one died as a baby her two sons went to the workhouse the following winter i think because elizabeths mam died in 1898 one sister had a family and the other moved to gibralter with her husband with the army. so i wud presume thomas cud only afford to look aafter kids of his own, because in those times a man would not take on another mans children without the mother

no shirley because i dont know were he came from hun,

mac her dad was WILLIAM SAMUEL KINGWELL AXFORD from middlesex born 1843

she was born in milford haven her age is 25 at marriage and thomas's is 37
