Find Ancestors

I an trying to find the parents of James Field born 1817 in Cuckfield Sussex.

Also any tips on finding deaths when I have no idea when they died!!

Any help would be much appreciated.

No I have only used Genes and don't know much about this searching lark!!

Where is Cuckfield near in Sussex please?

He was born in 1780 in Cuckfield West Sussex. Died 30th May 1861 At Broxmead Cuckfield he married Ann Jenner who was born about 1787 in Ardingly Sussex she died 25th May, 1821 in Cuckfield.

Well I searched the web and found "The Field Family Tree". I was a Feidl before i married and he is an ancestor of mine. He married Ann Jenner who was born about 1787 in Ardingly Sussex she died 25th May 1821 in cuckfield. James died 30th May ,1861 at Broxmead Cuckfield sussex. They had Francis Field 1817, Emma 1851 Edwin 1853 Betsy 1855 Warden 1858 Jula 1861 Charles Francis 1863 Enice 1865 and Celai Alice 1868. Do you mean the other message from Potty - I have replied to her. Sorry I really don't know how to use this board!!

Have you got the death cert as this may not be your James.

There are several James Field's about the same age born in Sussex.

As you mentioned Cuckfield I put up the one I found in Cuckfield.

The death could have been a son of James!! and not even related to him at all.

Your still doing fine. Just put all your answers on here and we can all see them then.

No I do not have any death certificates. All the information I have given is what I found on the web on the Field Family!! I do know that Francis Field born Boxmead in 1817 is definiately my ancestor ad I know he had a brother Warden and this is a very unusual name and lived in the right area.
