Trying to find out more about Dorothy Lowe (known as Dolly). She was the sister of my father, Horace Lowe, b. 1906. She also had seven other siblings: Robert, b. 1901, Percy, b. 1899, Alice, b. 1897, Bertha, b. 1894, Nellie, b. 1891, Florence, b. 1889 & John, b. 1887. Their father was John Lowe, b. about 1862 and their mother was Emily (nee Gregory), b. about 1861(?). I would be grateful for any information about Dorothy, please.

going back to 1911 census it shows emily had10 children but 1 had died.

census slso says born 1903.
the discrepancy is a little more than i would expect for a child.

I would also like to know more about Dorothy - for instance when and where did she die - I suspect that she did not live to a great age. Also, where did she live after she left home? Also any information on her possible spouse, Sidney J Pickard and whether she was married before 1945.

Sidney Pickard wasnt her spouse ,As you can see from the death record, THAT Dorothy was born in 1916 not 1902 so its the wrong Dorothy Lowe

I do not know anything about your family except what i have found by searching.
You are going to have to prove all of this. you may find it helpfull contacting other people withe these names in their tree.
But it may take a while. and a lot of patience.

I have hit a brick wall with most of these.
I believe that Nellie Lowe married Robert (known as Bob) Emberson (born about 1896? probably in London) in September 1922, probably in Croydon, and they had an only son called Norman who was mentally retarded or "spastic". I clearly remember them all, especially Aunt Nell.
Bob Emberson was very high up in the Freemasons (possibly Grand Master of the local lodge (Norwood/Croydon area)) - I remember seeing photos of him in his apron.
In spite of him being a notable figure I have been unable to find any reliable trace of him. A Robert Emberson born in Halstead, Essex was a possibility, but in the end seemed to prove unlikely.
