Glenda Report 9 Feb 2011 20:52

Son Donald is older than Angus so maybe there was an Ireland wedding!!!
Any ideas on checking out Irish info prior to 1850??
Glenda.

Potty Report 9 Feb 2011 21:07

Glenda, do not assume that the Donald in the 1841 is Archibald's brother - relationship's are not shown on that census.

I notice that the family were Catholics - there is a separate section on Scotland's people for Catholic records, easy to miss when you are new to the site.

In 1881 and 1891 censuses? spelling!

just a footnote about Donald - he may have been born in the Isles rather than Ireland.

Have checked Scotlands People for marriage of Archibald and Catherine, but have not found anything even in RC section. Have tried the birth of their children and as yet have not found anything.
Thanking you all for your continued help.
Glenda.
