I am having a bad night!
Yes her return date was 1890, not 1894 as I wrote.
I guess this is why she is not with William Hendrie Thomson in the 1911 census.

JaneyCanuck Report 6 Apr 2011 10:10

As long as I'm here, you informed us in the other thread that Elizabeth Fifield Thomson returned to England from the US in 1894. The record in this thread shows 1890.

Since Nellie has been found several times in the 1891 census, I suspect that the Elizabeth Thomson with son James B that I posted in the other thread is the right one. I could find no birth of a James who resembled that child in England. And I suspect the Elizabeth Musgrove in 1901 is her again.

Living together in 1911:

MUSGROVE ELIZABETH 1855 56 Fulham London - born Winchester
MUSGROVE FRANK 1861 50
HORNE LEONARD JAMES FRANK 1903 8 grandson
HORNE PERCY FREDERICK 1906 5 grandson

Frank Musgrove and Elizabeth Thomson married in 1904 or whatever it was.

Just so you understand, in case you haven't -- genesreunited doesn't research anything.

All the people posting in your threads are paying users of this website just like yourself. We do it because we enjoy helping out and we enjoy the puzzles. (The instructions explain this as well.)

In your latest thread, after I in particular asked over and over that you give the information you had, and you just kept not giving it, let alone saying that it was all right here on the board already ... it happens day after day after day, but it's never any easier to understand.

Dear JaneyCanuck
I feel really TERRIBLE about this . I was only wanting her birth record, and possible death record, which I hadn't been able to find. I had most of the information about her and family already. Some, kindly searched by genesreunited. I didn't realise I could have given you the threads.
I will not let this happen again. Sorry for wasting your time.
Regards
Ann

Did you ONCE read the instructions put in front of you when you started these threads?

Doing this:
"Before posting, please read the guidelines for message board use."

-- and seeing that it says "do not submit the same or similar material more than once" would be too much to expect of anyone who posts here.

But failing to read the clear instructions when you start a thread --

"Please don’t post about the same person or family twice as this can make extra work for the volunteer helpers. "

... I don't feel like counting the minutes of my life I've spent on this and will never get back again.

Sorry Ann,

I have only just noticed your question to me about why I thought they were Scottish!

The reason was that on the Ship's passenger list where I saw a William arriving with wife Mary in 1897, they had both been listed in the 'Scottish' column.

There was no middle name on there for him so it may not be the same person?

I will take a further look.

Flip Report 8 Mar 2011 07:57

No, not witnesses they were another couple getting married and registered on the same page as your couple - it's just how it appears on freebmd. If you want more on the marriage you'll need a copy of the certificate.

Lambeth is where the marriage was registered, if the earlier birth posted by Grainne is correct William was registered at St Giles, so probably born in that registration district.

Ann

Ann Report 6 Mar 2011 06:13

I presume Lambeth is where they were born?
Were the first two names their witnesses?

Ann

Ann Report 6 Mar 2011 05:59

Thanks. Details seems to match. William moved a fair bit for those times!
