You kind and clever lot out there have never let me down yet - in fact, I am forever grateful to many of you for helping me out when I was grazing my knees on a very steep learning curve.

Now then - we can't let this one get away either. I know that both individuals have got 'odd' surnames which have probably baffled the 1911 transcribers, but they're both there somewhere.

I'll be on here until about midnight.

Hello again, everybody.

I know that sks out there will be so thrilled when they have cracked this case for me!

Thank you Mary for your input. It makes it all the more frustrating that neither him nor her are to be found - BUT I KNOW THEY'RE OUT THERE.

I'm standing by . . .

Thank you in advance.

I can't even find May G Mouat on any census records ,she was born 28/9/1888 Toxteth Park middle name Gifford and died 1970.

Archibald worked as chemist assistant for Herbert Taylor St Martins Lane Liscard Cheshire before he joined the army, even tried to find him in 1911 no luck as i don't know what age Herbert would have been.

Its sooooooo annoying.

Thanks again.

But he must be in the UK because he did not sign up for WWI until 1914.

He is not living with his birth mother, Jessie M Kibble, and her Portuguese lover.

He is not living with his lonesome father.

He was born in 1894, so we are looking for a seventeen year old lad. Most likely places would be Manchester or Liverpool.

Please can sks keep looking for me?

I may not get back to this tonight, but will be on again tomorrow.

Thank you again.

Tried everything I can think of for searching the 1911 census but not found him

Nicola'S Report 24 Mar 2011 22:50

Thank you to one and all. This has been a fascinating journey.

Now, can anyone find him please on the 1911?

He is probably calling himself ARCHIBALD HERVEY KIBBLE, without the 'Alvaro'.

This will be the last piece of the jigsaw.

Glitter Baby, you are a whizz!

Better than the transcribers of his Army pension record who have written his middle name as 'Henry', when it is indeed clearly HERVEY.

Whoopee.

Many thanks to all.

Yup, knew about his grandmama's death - RIP.

The 'H' almost certainly stands for 'Hervey', but not 100% on that one. And just for good measure, Hervey often gets misheard/mistranscribed in our family . . .

Thanks, GB!

So obviously not looking for him with his grandmother

Nicola'S

Nicola'S Report 24 Mar 2011 21:37

ALVARO ARCHIBALD H KIBBLE was born in 1894.

In the 1901 Census, he is living with his Grandmother Mary Louisa Kibble - although his first names have been turned around.

Please can someone find him in the 1911 Census? I have tried some permutations but I'm not very good with the 1911 yet.

Many thanks.
