This possibly looks like her family in 1871:

MILLIGAN, Michael Head M 44 1827 Ireland << Tailor b Dublin
MILLIGAN, Sarah Wife F 40 1831 Ireland << Tailoress b Dublin
MILLIGAN, Michael Son M 17 1854 Ireland << Tailor b Cork
MILLIGAN, Ellen Daughter F 15 1856 Ireland << Domestic Servant b Cork
MILLIGAN, Sarah Daughter F 6 1865 Middlesex

Registration District: Kensington Sub District: Brompton Enumeration District: 3A Ecclesiastical Parish:

Civil Parish: Kensington Municipal Borough:

Address: Yeoman's Row, Kensington County: London, Middlesex

There's a huge number of people living there.

rootgatherer, yes this is her and strange she would revert back to previous married name, The John Mahoney would be my g/father and Kate my g/aunt. Since joining Genes I have found relations of the Heavey family, also Kate's family. Just want to know what happened to my gt gmother Mary Ann whether she be Mahoney or Heavey.
thanks everyone for doing all this for me its greatly appreciated.

Linda, you need to understand that names on census records back then are subject to many variations mainly due to general lack of literacy (even by the enumerators sometimes!). - Look at the Spinder/Spender variation on page 1.

Do you know what Michael MUlligan's occupation was?

.. Was thinking if we follow that family through there's a chance that Mary Ann might turn up with one of those.
