Kirstie...I suggest you use a search engine to check out the History of the Orange Order...

"The Orange Order is Northern Ireland's largest Protestant organisation, and has around 40,000 members locally. Its origins lie in the 1690 Battle of the Boyne when the Dutch Protestant King William of Orange defeated his father-in-law, Catholic King James ll of England and Vll of Scotland."

Kirstie...What happens is I will look through and see what I may be able to help with...others do the same ..however some people tend to have subscriptions to various sites and will look for info.for you...
When I say "log on " I mean when they visit the boards....
Just like you we are all looking for help one way or another and share what we can find...
I have had a look at the LW site and see Charlie listed for Lorton St...I am after wondering if this was his place of work..shop.. perhaps ?

thankyou eringobragh1916 :0)

may is infact marion, i know from family members further down my tree that she went by both names but was infact born marrion..
lily was also born elizabeth....
i couldnt find charles fergie on the 1901 census but lennon wylie's ulster street directory shows him at number 6 lorton street.
Im sure this was a family home as in 1880 john lepper fergie is on there at number 6 lorton street.

my grandfather charles fergie born 1902 (parents elizabeth milligan and charles fergie 1874) died when my father was not quite 2 anyhow my gran margaret moore remarried and my grandfathers siblings and mother moved to new jersey... i have managed to track them down but they know nothing of the years in belfast.

i could be wrong but i have a feeling that elizabeth campbells mother was called catherine......

i have hit a brick wall on elizabeth campbell and john lepper fergie, other than their married details, fathers names and their 2 childrens names i am stuck..
do you know how i can go back further on the info for them both please??

kirstie

p.s i forget to add that my grandparents charles fergie 1902 and margaret moore 1909 came to england in 1937 and after my grandfather died my gran stayed here and it was her new husband that cut the family ties..
