Hi Lorriane,

Right heres goes:

Mapperley Hospital: the archives do have a Patients Register that covers 1887- 1950 for Women but is restricted access until 2051 and as you what 1950 you will have to write or email them with details of who you are looking for with ref SO/HO/6/1/4 for them to have a look for you and they may charge you a fee which may be £25.

Elec Roll for 1925 Colwick Road no Leatherland or Selby surname I didn't have time to check year before or after so will do that next time.

Elec Roll 1928 Blue Bell Hill, there are to many names for me to write down as it was a big road so will PM you copies of the pages for you to go though will be over a few messages as there are 7 pages.

Marriages of William Henstock and Edward Henstock (not to each other) will also PM them to you. So bear with me as it will take a while.

I think that was everything if I have forgotten anything let me know.

JoonieCloonie Report 9 Aug 2015 04:31

Hi Wendy!

I have just made my way back to this marriage (parish records at FMP)

First name(s) - John
Last name - Willey
Marriage date - 15 Jan 1790
Marriage place - Mansfield Woodhouse
Church - St Edmund King and Martyr
> Spouse's first name(s) - Elizabeth
> Spouse's last name - Clark
County - Nottinghamshire

Now I'd like to identify Elizabeth ... she is my mitochondrial ancestor so if I keep going I will find my Daughter of Eve. :-D

In Mansfield Woodhouse, Betty Clark baptised 1 March 1769 is my favourite so far ... the wedding might have been on her 21st birthday.

My question:

would the parish record of the 1790 marriage have the witnesses' names? too much to hope for a father's name I guess ... but it's always possible a witness name might help lead me to a baptism.

of course if it told me anything about John Willey, that would be fine too. :-)

Many thanks! <3

Nottsgirl Report 13 Sep 2015 14:02

Hi Lorraine,

I have plans of the cemeteries but they don't have graves on them, if you know the grave numbers and for Rock Cemetery the section name you can email the people at Wilford Hill Cemetery and they can get the grave marked for you and they will send you a map showing where abouts the grave is.

I'll pm you the plans.
